Creative Craftsmen aka Ed Hoy’s International is celebrating 50 years of service

In the early 70’s, Ed Hoy restored an old house in downtown Naperville. In it, he sold giftware, clocks, artwork and offered custom picture framing.

The glass department began very simply in the kitchen space, and the basement was the warehouse. Early customers were fascinated with glass. Ed offered beginner/intro classes for $1.00 (the price of a glass cutter). The enthusiasm for glass took over and the building expanded.

As more room was needed to accommodate the growing business, it was moved a mile away.

Before long, customers were opening their own stained glass stores, thus the beginning of the wholesale business.

It wasn’t always easy. With his wife Dorothy at his side, Ed was not afraid to take chances along the way. Who would have imagined how the business would grow. Ed Hoy always tried to see things through “rose-colored glasses”.

Two additions and 3 buildings later, Ed Hoy’s International settled in Warrenville, Illinois. Ed Hoy’s International became a leader in the glass industry servicing 1000’s businesses and customers worldwide.
