Are you a jewelry artist who loves to think outside the box? Do you often find yourself combining casting techniques to produce one-of-a-kind creations? Then this contest is for you!

We are looking for the hottest jewelry artists in the industry who are looking to combine techniques as a great way to make your jewelry creations sizzle.

The Challenge:

Create a jewelry piece, or an entire collection, that combines lampworking and/or casting techniques AND includes Colour de Verre Glasslinks.  Submit your entry and then vote for your work or others. The winner will be named The Most Innovative Jewelry Artist and everyone who participated will receive free publicity!

Art is a very personal thing. We like what we like and no opinion is wrong. Glass is the same. We seem to like what we like. Some like it hot, others love it cold. Some use ‘Dye’namic Infusion, some don’t. This is the one medium that can morph itself in seemingly limitless ways with almost limitless depth. However, it seems that we put all of these various techniques in their own isolated corners. I wonder what could be created if there were less barriers between techniques.

So why does it seem that as an industry we don’t merge our techniques. Now, of course, we know that COE’s can’t mix – in the kiln. But even they can be merged in final projects. Why can’t cold glass be layered with fused glass pieces for depth and added dimension? Everywhere you look today there is mixed media art. Can you incorporate beads and wire wrapping in your project. ‘Dye’namic Infusion can add a very personal touch to your art. Personalization is in high demand. Include it! Your audience with ( and hence your business) will grow.

Look at your inventory. How can you blend or merge or layer your glass techniques in your pieces? Mix it up! – In your art, in your store, on your web pages. You may be surprised at the results. You have product to sell and art to create in limitless ways. Maybe, just maybe you will create the next new glass craze!
